Build a Line Challenge from B'Sue Boutiques, Elizabeth Hildreth of MadScientistsDesigns, Part One

Brainstorming!

Hello, I'm Elizabeth Hildreth, owner of MadScientistsDesigns. Welcome to the 1st in a series of 3 blog hops for the Build a Line Challenge from B'sue Boutiques. In Part 1, I'll reveal the inspiration behind my new jewelry line (and a sneak peek shhh!).

The Build a Line Challenge is a three month class on designing a cohesive line with 50+ participating jewelry designers and we'll be having THREE blog hops to show off our designs in progress and at the 3rd blog hop we will reveal our entire new line with a minimum of 5 individual pieces (but I bet a lot of people will have more than that!). Should we start a betting pool?

I have decided to go in a new direction with this line (see my other jewelry here) and I'm really excited to show off the 1st piece I'm working on!

*****Drum roll, please!*****

****dramatic pause****

My inspiration is:

Middle Eastern jewelry. I love the bold colors, intricate designs and rich, exotic history.

I started the whole process by picking my main component, this versatile filigree.

Planning the hand bracelet design...

This is the base of my hand bracelet. Original color.

Then I added red accents.

Time to bring on the bling!

Wow! That really did make a big difference! So, on the finished bracelet, there are 10 4mm Swarovski crystals.
So, what do you think of the 1st piece? Leave me a comment and tell me what colors YOU'D like to see in this line. See you soon! ~Elizabeth :-)

Don't forget to give my Links some love!

Callie is watching you!

PS: Come back and check out Part 2 on February 20th
and Part 3 on March 20th. See you there! :-)

Hop on over to the next blog!

Hippity Hoppity, (Almost) Time for a Blog Hop

Found on knowledgereignssupreme.blogspot.com
So..... since we last chatted, I've been accepted into the Build A Line Challenge workshop! Whoopie!!! A big part of this challenge will be to keep everyone informed along the way with some background info and sneak peeks into the whole design process. I'll be dusting off the old camera and taking lots of "action" shots.

Meet Nick, one of my supervisors.

What to expect: There will be loads of information about the whole process of creating a cohesive line of jewelry (which I'm sure could be used to create a cohesive line of any product). Lots of behind the scenes pictures of jewelry artists at work and jewelry in various stages of completion, sketches, ideas, and who knows what else! Join the fun and hop along with us!

1st Blog Hop: January 23, 2015
2nd Blog Hop: February 20, 2015
3rd Blog Hop: March 20th, 2015

Be there or be square! ~ Elizabeth
